Two Is Better Then One

I am a little behind on writing this post but thats what happens when you have a baby. 3 years ago on July 20th Matt proposed to me. Saying YES was the best decision I ever made.

I decided to dedicate this post to our story.

Matt and I meet while working at Allen's Grocery store back in 2009. Matt was a morning bagger and I was the afternoon bagger. So we actually never "worked" at the same time. Even though we never worked together I knew exactly who he was and I had the hots for him. I am not sure if he had the same feelings for me... you will have to ask him that one.

Matt left Allen's at the end of 2009 to serve a mission in Brazil. I thought nothing of it because I didn't think he even knew I existed, so I just carried on my life.

When Matt got home from his mission he started working at Allen's again. I frequently ended up going going to Allen's, heck I will run to the store for people if that means I got to see a hot boy. After going into the store multiple times on March 25 2012 Matt finally sent me a message on Facebook. I gave him my phone number after our conversation and he waited a whole week to text me. Longest week of my life! When he finally texted me we went on our first date that week.

The dates just keep on going and things kept moving right along. All of my family and friends told me they had a feeling I was going to marry him. I don't know how they knew but they were right.

After dating Matt for three months he came to Pine Lake with my family. Matt came down the day after me with my sister. The whole night without him I had this gut feeling that he was going to ask me to marry him. I just kept telling myself there was no way that he would think to propose to me at my all time favorite place, and that he still needed to talk to my dad and get his permission. Little did I know he had already done that and he did think to propose at my all time favorite place. Also the night as I was thinking of these million thing's I was playing Where's My Water on my IPad. One of the level's I played was called "Two Is Better Then One". Matt and I would always say that while we were dating or talking about marriage. The name of that level was just a reminder that Two really is better than one.

The day Matt came down Matt, Tashelle and Brad wanted to go on a four wheeler right away. It had been raining that day so it was quite muddy but I agreed. Matt wanted to drive me on the four wheeler and I was a little freaked out because he wasn't very experienced. (I get nervous easy..) We drove to my favorite meadow. Some how the convinced me to ride with Tashelle and Matt was going to ride with Brad. Before I could get on the four wheeler with Tashelle they took off and left me at the meadow. I started to get a hint that something was going on. As I was standing there waiting for I don't know what it started raining on me. After a few minutes one by one my different family members drove by each with a red rose in hand. Some of the roses had little memories the two of us had together on them.  The last person to come up was Matt with more roses and he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was pouring rain at this time and it couldn't have been a more perfect place for a perfect event.

This is the meadow that I was left stranded at.

Three months later we were married on October 4, 2012 at the Mt Timpanogos Temple

Best decision I ever made! I love Matt more and more everyday.

Listen to this song it describes our love story perfectly.

M.I.A

I have a lot to catch up on since I have been missing for a while. This past week has been a little crazy at my house. When you have a sick baby, sick husband and a sick me it's hard to find time to write a blog. I am also in the process of getting a computer so I don't have to use someone else's. I thought as a quick way to catch up on all that has been going on this past while I will show you in pictures.

Rhenn got this shirt from his Aunt Jen while she was on her mission in Oregon

Rhenn is teething right now so he always has his hands in his mouth sucking on his fingers or thumb
Some may say don't let your baby get in that bad habit but I willing to fight that battle when I want him to stop. When you have a baby that cries a lot it is so beyond nice to have them be able to sooth themselves.

Yes you guessed right! That is crap, don't ask how he got it only on me and not on his outfit. We were sitting at GG's house and I touched Rhenn's foot and couldn't figure out why it was wet. I looked down and noticed this poo everywhere. He didn't even grunt or make noise like he usually does, he just shot me.

Rhenn is the new sheriff in town. Rhenn is growing that he gets to wear all the new cloths that his Aunt's have bought him.

Daddy really is our superhero. We don't know what we would do without him.

Rhenn loves his dad so much. Every morning or when he comes home from work he is all smiles. I sometimes get a wee bit jealous how happy he gets when he see's his daddy.

Chillin with dad is his favorite. He also loves chewing on Jeffery

We sit outside everyday while we wait for dad to come home. So of course we have to have our shark shades on.

Matchy, matchy with dad.

Rhenn chillin in his bumbo with his cow. He loves to play with his cow, he is going to be so excited to go to Pine Lake and see real cow's.

Sometimes it's hard to take a picture of this little man because he wiggles so much. We can now do a mohawk in his hair. Since we can't put bow's and headbands in his hair we do mohawks.

I know this is a long post but enough of Rhenn I have to show everyone what I have been up to.

This is my first attempt of french braiding. I feel like I did a pretty darn good job.

Rhenn got a lot of new 3-6 month clothes but they were all long sleeve shirts. I thought they were all so cute so I decided to cut them and make them short. My mom normally does this kind of stuff because I have no idea how to.

But this time I told my mom that I wanted to learn how, so she taught me while I did it. It was kind of stressful because I was so afraid of messing up. I thought I did pretty good as a first time sewer.

Hope you enjoyed reading about me and my family.

We like to party

I hope you all had a great 4th of July, we sure did. We love holiday's at our house. It's not only is it another day that we get to spend with our daddy but a fun party up at grandma LaRae's house. She had a new addition to her pool this year. This...

It's makes me laugh that we always want what we can't have. Grandma bought this new slide for her pool and it wasn't bolted to the ground. That meant that only the little kids could go on it until it's stable. All the littles (the great grandchildren) refused to go down the slide, and all the big kids (the grandchildren) wanted to go down but couldn't. We wanted to get at least one kid to go down it so my Uncle said if everyone holds the slide I could take Payton down. I loved it but she refused to go again, all the big kids can't wait until we can use the slide.

This was a fun holiday because it was Rhenn's first time going swimming. I think he liked it for the most part but the pool wasn't as warm as it usually is so he didn't last to long. If it was warmer I think he would have stayed in a lot longer because he loves bath time.

He looked so cute in his swimming suite that his aunt shay got him
(shaycrandall.blogspot.com)

His head is still too small for any hats but we still put it on him.

Hello! I can't see anything!

I can't wait until Rhenn get's a bigger it will be so fun being able to actually swim with him and play on grandma's new slide. I know it will all happen before I know it, so in the mean time I will enjoy my little baby.

After swimming we always have lots of good food

My eyes are bigger than my stomach. I am always overly full after the Taylor family parties.
Who else is a Diet Coke fan? It's much better with real lime but when you don't have that the caned kind will do.

After the swimming and all the good food we came to my moms house to have a firework show. Man was there quite the show, we had fireworks going up in every direction. It was a great night to a perfect day and to top it off that night Rhenn slept until 7. You can't go wrong with a great night sleep after a long fun filled day.

Growing.. growing.. gone!

We said goodbye to this little bed of ours. It's been good to us, but unfortunately we have out grown it. We had a crib bought before he was even born. We decided to turn it into a little project, it took a little longer than anticipated. But it's done now so that's all that really matters right? hahah

We went from this too..

THIS!!

I LOVE IT!! It may have taken a few words and some stress to get where it is but now that it is done I totally love it.

Rhenn on the other hand wasn't so sure when I first introduced him to his new bed. :) I think he like's it now.. I mean who wouldn't love having a huge bed all to yourself.

(Outfit credit: Of course his currently only available single aunt Holly)

Now if any one of you reading this and have a new little one, expecting one or plan on having one in your future just listen.  I am going to give you my two cents worth of advice. As a new mom I know you get a little more of that then you really want but I feel like this will be helpful. Rhenn has been sleeping in his own room since he was a week old, it was the best thing I could have done for the both of us. If you would have told me to do that before he was born or even in his first week of life I would have said no way! I will have him sleep in our room for a couple of months. His first week of life I was so terrified of everything, I wanted him as close as possible. What if he stopped breathing, what if he chokes, what if, what if, what if. Rhenn is the nosiest sleeper, so every little sound he made I was either next to his bassinet checking on him or running all the what if's through my head. He would always end up being just fine and I was worrying for no reason.

I decided that was enough of that, if I can't hear all the little noises he make's then I can't sit and worry if he was going to be okay. When Matt got home from work and saw that his bed was no longer in our room he was shocked, he knows that I worry non stop. The first night I was worried (shocker me worrying... again.... always) that I wasn't going to hear him cry for a feeding. We didn't have a baby monitor. I just listed to my mom, she said trust me you will hear him when you need to. What do you know I did! After that first night I knew I could hear him when he needed to be fed and I didn't have to sit and worry about all the other noises, from then on we have both slept great.

We now don't have to go through the whole process of teaching him that our room really isn't his room and that he was only sleeping there temporary. All he knows is his room and that's where he sleeps at night. I have been really lucky in the sleeping department with him, he sleeps like a champ. I know that isn't the case for everyone but trust me just give it a try. Let them sleep in their own room and I promise it will be so much better for you and your spouse. If I can do it any one can because I am the queen or "king" of worrying. Well that is the end of my rant I hope it can help someone because everyone deserves a good nights rest.

Here are some fun pictures to look at since I just wrote a ton and had no pictures.

Miss Payton Jane is a smart girl she knows what the good stuff is. Nutella tastes so much
better when you can eat it with your finger and get it all over your face. A little
chocolate never hurt anyone.

Oh ya know just mom entertaining herself. He think's I am pretty funny.

~Thanks for reading hope you all have a spectacular 4th of July.~

Sentence per picture #1

Look at me go! Doing another post that isn't a year a part. These day's I take a million pictures of everything so instead of me blowing up your Insta and Facebook. I will just post them on here, and who ever feel's like looking at them can.. It's a win win.

I like to be crafty lately, this is my newest craft.

"I've got junk in my trunk also" was said to me by some old man while I was waiting in line at the store. (please old man say no more!)

Every time I put that outfit on Rhenn I am just going to cry because I want to go to back.

I never thought that I would say that because the first time I went to Disneyland a million years ago I wasn't that impressed.

I guess I just wasn't going with the right people. (my family isn't in to Disneyland)

Matt sure showed me how it really is the happiest place on earth.

Newest addiction Costa Vida nacho's, no beans extra pico please!!

Light before cleaning = mega fogged up.

Light after toothpaste cleaning = good as new.

Have you done any fun craft's lately?

Do you like Disneyland? If so what is your favorite ride?
