Thanksgiving 2015

Well I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving filled with lots of food, family, and everything. I know we sure did over here in the King home.

This Thanksgiving was spent with the King side of the family. Our festivities started on Wednesday because why not make the holiday's last as long as possible.  Jen made this loaded baked potato soup and I had to force myself to stop at two bowls. It was amazing if only you could taste pictures.

We also had pie after our soup because one day of pie just isn't enough.

Okay it kind of is for me because I am a weirdo and am super picky when it comes to pie. All that pumpkin and pecan and other stuff I will save it for you to eat.

I do like chocolate pie or there was one with caramel (let's be honest anything with enough caramel on it tastes good) in it and those were super good. You must include a bunch of whipped topping on top though.

Rhenn loved the whipped topping. His face say's it all.... Mom don't take pictures of me give me more food!

Thanksgiving morning started off with some games. We were all sitting around talking and next thing we know Holly walks out dressed like this and says "Who wants to play some bingo?" in her best old lady voice.

A Diet Coke with lime is a must while playing bingo. I forgot how much fun bingo is when I become an old lady I may be a frequent bingo player. Even though out of all the times we played I never got one bingo, I mean really how lame!

Matt's family always has cute name tags and then made one for Rhenn this year so I had to take a picture of our cute little pilgrim family. We were excited for Rhenn's first Thanksgiving because he LOVES  food but the poor guy slept and missed the whole thing. Good thing he doesn't know what he's missing out on yet.

We did play another game and I won this blue cup. Matt and I prolly have like a million cups/bottles but yet we will want more. I think we have a slight obsession or something.

Right before dinner we all went out and played a game of croquet. This game is also so much fun I don't know why people don't play it or bingo more often.

Well folks here you have our feast.

Okay so here is the weird thing I don't like yams at all! But they always look sooo good and smell amazing. Every year I find myself serving me up some but I just can't do it, I wish I knew what about them I don't like but I just don't.

I feel like such a good kid when I try foods that I don't normally like in hopes to like them someday. I feel like I make momma's proud. See that ham? Yea I made it and it was afreakingmazing. There is just something about ham that I love. I made this super good glaze for it also.

Yea we were one of those crazy people who decided to go to Wal-Mart on Thanksgiving night for "fun". Matt has never been black friday shopping so we thought what the heck why not? We got like 9 movies for $22 I know people who spend that on one movie.

One day when we become rich and famous I am pretty sure my husband will own a car like this. We love BYU at our house.

I also got this 3 piece frame set for super cheap and I love it. I really need to get on the ball and put pictures in it and hang it up.

I am one of those weirdo's who likes to make my family match. It makes me happy inside.

We all know how crazy busy December is so Matt's extended family decided to do their Christmas party the day after Thanksgiving. I thought it was a great idea because trying to make time for everything in december just makes my head hurt.  At this family party they make their famous eggnog and oh my heck I could drink all of it. Side note I don't like eggnog at all so it took some convincing to get me to drink it. I am so glad I did because it was heavenly.

This is our white elephant gift haul. Mine is the skittles and eos and Matt's is all the fun stuff down below, I thought they were pretty awesome gifts for white elephants. If you are wondering what the colorful wire thing is, it's a head scratcher thing and oh my goodness it is heavenly.

Well that would be Rhenn's first Thanksgiving. I can't wait to share the rest of our holiday shenanigans, keep following to find out about them.

Sin City 2015

Better late than never coming home and getting a sick baby and then having the holiday come this post got a little delayed but I am glad to say its all done. Beware it's a long one so sit down and enjoy.

Well I would have to say Vegas was a huge success. It's a perfect place to go on a little get away vacation. Not very far away, lots of free stuff and it's just fun.

Warning this post will be filled with lots and lots of pictures.

Every vacation we have gone on I always take a picture of us driving, I don't know why I do because Matt can never look at camera.

I love gas station runs and getting candy and road trips are a perfect excuse to do so. Okay lets be honest I do it all the time it's just nice to have an excuse.

We had planned on leaving Monday the 16th but from looking at the weather forecast it was going to be a snow storm. We had a novel idea to leave on Sunday night and drive to St George, I was excited for that also because it would help break up the drive for the baby. Well from here to Beaver was quite nice the baby slept and the road wasn't bad at all. Well we made a pit stop in Beaver and that's when it went all down hill... It started to snow a little bit before we got to Beaver but it was just little flurries but when we got to Beaver it started snowing. (I mean snowing lot's) We got on the road in hopes that the snow would let up but to our luck it just kept coming down. It was coming down so hard and so fast that it stuck to our lights so we couldn't see at all so we had to pull over twice to clear off the lights. I don't know if Rhenn could feel the stress or what but he never fell back to sleep from Beaver to St George. Like most other children he wasn't a perfect baby who just quietly just played with a toy, he cried the whole rest of the way. (Only in a perfect world would he sit quite haha) I ended up getting in the back to try and keep him happy I was doing everything under the sun to keep him happy. To say the least we were thrilled to finally make it to St George safely and without killing anyone or ripping out our hair.
Daddy was good at keeping Rhenn entertained while everyone got ready. I know letting your baby watch movies probably isn't the best idea but every once in awhile works for me. It's nice to have something to keep him entertained. (Who am I kidding it doesn't even last 5 min then he want's to do something different.)

If this little man is grumpy all you need to do is take him on a ride in the stroller and he is quiet and happy as can be. So it worked out great the whole time we were out on the strip because he loved being out and about. The first thing we did when we got to vegas was go to the outlet mall's to get daddy some new work shoes.

I have no clue what this building is but I thought it was the coolest looking thing ever!

Have you ever watched Pawn Stars on TV? Well we do so of course we had to make a stop and check it out. We tried to come here on our honeymoon but the line was forever and a day long so we didn't wait. This time the line wasn't to bad so we decided to wait.

We were just standing in front of this door and I thought it would be a perfect time to capture a picture. Come to find out this is the door that they do their night transactions because they are open 24/7 and don't open the whole shop.

It was fun to look at all the stuff. The TV makes it look different than it really is... The TV makes it look bigger.

He is good at not looking at the camera. I mean who likes to look at the camera when there is so much new stuff around you.

Our first breakfast was at Blueberry Hill, if you are ever in Vegas and need a place to eat I highly recommend coming here. It is soooo good and has yet to disappoint. Also it isn't any more expensive than Ihop or Denny's and I think it's a little better.

The first day in Vegas we just went to the outlets and then the pawn shop and then just kind of hung out around the hotel. We were all tired from the drive the night before and that day. The second day we went and visited the strip. At breakfast (Blueberry Hill's) everyone was teasing me how much I love ketchup, my dad said I could eat ketchup on my ketchup. Well we parked at the Planet Hollywood because they have free parking and it's in the middle of the strip. Right when you walk into the mall there the first restaurant we see is called Ketchup, so of course I had to take a picture of it, if only we had time to eat their.

My mom rented her a scooter because she has been having problems with her knees and I thought it was the best decision she made she could have shopped all day. I even took a turn riding it I may have had a little too much fun on it.
I hope my mother doesn't kill me for posting this picture

So we were waiting in line to get half off tickets to Terry Fator and this Spiderman and Hello Kitty would not leave us alone they kept saying come take picture come take picture so finally I took picture. Well after they wanted money but I didn't have any money plus if I did I didn't want to give it to them. I told them that I didn't have any cash and they weren't very happy with me hahah That's what they get for bugging me so much to take picture.

We then made a stop at the M&M and Coke factory. Quick funny story about this wall of M&M's, my grandpa came here once and thought that they were samples so he started pulling down the lever and tasting all the different kinds. Bahahah that would be nice if they were they are like a billion dollars a pound. My parents decided to get some but we didn't get any and man alive I have never craved M&M's so bad in my life. Later that night we made a gas station run and got us two bags for the price we would have paid for one M&M. :)

When you ask the old man who shakes to take a picture it sometimes turns out blurry.

Again he isn't looking at the camera.

We got ourselves a bottle of Coke but my cheapskate self thought if I went to my gas station at home I could have got three 32oz for the price I paid for this one drink.... I guess it's for the fun of it right?

I don't know who had more fun out of the two of them, they are best buddies. Papa sure does love to spoil him and give him all sorts of treats and new food. He had lot's of firsts while we were on our trip and he loved everyone of them. Papa wanted to stay in the hotel and play with Rhenn all day and I am sure Rhenn would have loved it.

We got Rhenn the cutest Coke hat ever. Unfortunately he isn't a big fan of it just yet we are hoping he will get use to it one of these days.

On Tuesday night Matt and I got to go out for the night and Rhenn stayed in with Mema and Papa. We went to Matt's all time favorite place and I would have to agree it was pretty darn good. It would be kinda sad if Ramsay didn't have a good restaurant.

I don't know why but I think this is the oddest picture of Ramsay. Like what's up with his hands?

Everyone may be smarter than me but I finally realized why the GR are a different color but Gordon Ramsay. Duh!!

I just got the all american burger because I like being normal and I don't like "fancy" food I guess you could say. Matt got duck bacon on his burger... I mean really can't you just use pig bacon? Last time I checked that stuff was Ahmazing.

I wish I would have just got like five orders of onion rings because they were delish.

Yes that is parmesan cheese on top and then they had a cheddar ranch and a chipotle ketchup to dip the rings in. I would have to say the ranch was my all time favorite. I am a dipper not a scooper. (Jen if you read this you and only you will understand)

Okay so everytime I get a burger there is always like one or two pickles and that is my favorite part. I finally found a person who understands me. Gordon you are pro and making burgers!! Lots and lots of pickles.

I gamble for the first time on this trip. Let's say I am not a fan and it doesn't tempt me at all. If you haven't got on earlier in this post I am a cheapwad and would rather spend my money on soda or not spend it at all.

After eating at Burgr's we went to see Terry Fator. It was so good and beyond funny. If you don't know who he is Youtube him and watch him now. He is a ventriloquist that one America's Got Talent who can sing and impersonate people. Just watch him if you haven't already.

Rhenn wants to be a DJ like daddy was. Or wait maybe he just wants to eat the headphones I can't tell haha

I was looking at things online to do in Vegas that were free and I came across this chocolate factory. It is called Ethel M Chocolate Factory it was about 20 min off the strip and you got a free tour. So we decided to give it a try and it was lots of fun. It also let us see parts of Nevada we have never seen before.

This is melted chocolate going under a cooling area, it takes 45 min for the chocolate to cool.

I don't know if you can see chocolate in the left corner that looks like it isn't where it should be, that's because it's not where it should be. There was a wee bit of a problem and a tray of chocolate that shot every where then it jammed the machine. Before it happened there was people standing by to make sure everything went smooth but when this happened nobody was insight so we had to go get someone to fix the problem. I forgot to take a picture but there was a huge! bin of chocolate on the ground and I asked what it was and she said that was the reject's she informed me that they do not remelt the chocolate the just throw it away. I really wanted to know where the chocolate was disposed of because I was more than happy to take the reject chocolate. I do not discriminate when it comes to chocolate.

Especially when...

all of their chocolate costs $1.99 for a piece this big. I mean unless it's coated with gold who would pay that much for one piece. (Thank goodness the gave us a sample as shown above)

They had cool pictures printed on them like these ones but still $1.99 for one? No freaking way!!!!

They also had a cactus garden outside, we were wishing that it was closer to our hotel because they had it all decorated for Christmas and lights everywhere so it would have been lots of fun to see at night.

"Mom, dad! It's bright."

The whole chocolate factory is run by these solar panels.  I thought that was so cool.

Could these two boys be any cuter? I am so glad they are mine.

I really hope this mirror isn't showing me what I really look like but just can't see it.

After going to the chocolate factory we made a little trip to the Las Vegas temple, it was so pretty and fun to see. I like how it's back is turned towards the strip like it's looking away from the world.

We like to go to a buffet when we are in Vegas and the Bellagio but we had heard good things about the Rio buffet so we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately we gave it a thumbs down, it didn't taste good at all. This is the only picture I remembered to take because I thought the desert must be good but it wasn't we were so depressed.

I did get a picture of Matt's food he said the sushi and shrimp were alright so that was at least a plus.

Wait I lied there was something good about the buffet. They had mini M&M's so we took a few cup's of them and that was the best thing.

He loved riding on Mema's scooter, he learned how to turn the knob that made her so slow and fast so he made her a crazy woman driver.

We went on the strip and night which is my favorite I love how bright and colorful it is. Rhenn had to agree that all the lights were pretty great also.

The Bellagio water show is a must see, between all the lights on the strip and this water show Rhenn was in seventh heaven.

The Bellagio Gardens.

The pumpkin the scarecrow is on is made out of roses, it was so pretty!!
