I would call our first vacation/ camping trip as a family of three a huge success! Pine Lake is a huge thing in my family. It is down south 20 miles north of Bryce Canyon. I have been going ever since I was a new born. We normally go for two weeks at a time but now that everyone is grown up and has their own families we went for 9 days instead.
On our way down we decided to go visit Grandpa Monte. It's so sad that he is so far away but I really know he is where we are. At Pine Lake I kept thinking to myself what would Grandpa be thinking if he were here.
You can't road trip without seed's and dill pickle Spitz is the only way to go.
I really shouldn't take pictures while we are driving.
We finally made it, Rhenn slept the entire drive he only would wake up for the few minutes while we stopped to get gas. He even slept on the bumpy dirt road.
Rhenn loved chilling on his bed. We slept on an air mattress and then I just made Rhenn a little bed on the floor next to us. I was super worried for the first night because the first night at new places are always the worst. To my surprise he slept from 8 until 5ish then I fed him and he went back to bed. The rest of the trip continued that way... lets just say my baby is totally awesome!
The second we set up our tent there was a million flies in it. We swear it came with them in it because literally the second it was up it was covered in flies. I never got a picture of the whole tent I really wanted to but never ended up doing so. We got the tent right before Pine Lake so it was our first time using it and lets just say it totally sucked! When it rains it pours and our tent was flooded, we took it back the second we got home.
The first day was very uneventful and about killed us all. Getting camp all set up is the worst but once it's done it is so nice.
If you read my previous post Pine Lake is where Matt proposed to me. We carved in the tree that year and so this was our fourth time seeing it. Its so sad the tree is kind of dying so thats why the "n" is leaking sap.
Sorry but not sorry for all the photos you will be seeing in this post. These are just some different views of the amazing lake.
Our days consist of playing cards, riding four wheelers, sitting by the fire and just chillin with family. I took a lot of photos along the way so enjoy!
I found a lot of good share Coke's with while on the trip so I had to document.
This whole vacation was spent with my better half.
Thats right, that says share a Coke with Tasha. My cousin is so thoughtful and decided she better pick it up for me.
He was smiling at me right before I took this picture but then when I took it his eyes were closed. I thought it was so cute though not to share.
Oh ya know just chillin with dad.
The group on the four wheeler ride.
Me and Kayla. Even if you have a full face helmet on and people can't see your face you still smile.
The newly wed couple couldn't miss out on the Pine Lake trip.
The ride we went on was to the flood. Some years ago there was a massive flood and it brought down all of these trees. I can't even the sound it must have made as these trees were coming down. You can look at the mountain and see the trail the water took as it took all these trees down.
Rhenn loved riding on Grandpa's side by side. Any time he was fussy or we needed to get him down for a nap we would just take him for a ride and he would fall to sleep.
When the rain comes we all pile in the trailer to stay dry and sane. Only so many people can fit and when you have crying babies you are thankful for Uncle Brad. He is the best story teller all of the babies love to listen to his stories.
We use up every part of the trailer when we are all crammed in there. Payton is all about copying Uncle Brandon.
Trying to go on a ride around the lake and the cow's think they own the place or something. We were even honking the horn and they still wouldn't move.
The storm clouds look so awesome. The rain clouds only cover a little bit of the area, so you can be in one spot and be completely dry and then if you drive a little further you can be completely soaked. The thunder is amazing it is SO loud and shakes your whole body.
It looks like he is blowing on his diaper but he is really blowing on his leg and then laughing at him and Rhenn was cracking up. He thought it was so funny.
You are always so dirty after a ride but I think this is a first. Matt took off his glasses and had a bug smooshed on him.
Rhenn thinks he is ready to drive papa's truck.
The green and purple ice cream was lime rickey it was so dang good. The rainbow ice cream on the bottom was super man. Nothing like bringing back a million childhood memories.
We always go into Bryce Canyon one day and go out to eat then look around the shops and of course get the ice cream you just saw.
If only he was looking at the camera instead of eating dads watch.
The first thing Payton said to to me when she saw me and Rhenn was Tasha you match.
I wanted to buy something for Rhenn since it was his first trip to Bryce and they have the cutest clothes but I knew he would only get to wear it such a short time. I decided to get something that would last. Everyone meet Theo.
Pine Lake was kind of hard this year for Rambo because he is to old to just sit on your lap like Rhenn will but he cant walk just yet. Tashelle just decided to let him live it up and play in the dirt and he loved it!! I am not sure how it tasted but he seemed to like it. Uncle Brad thought that Rhenn was missing out so he set him in the dirt and put some on his legs so he could be a part of the fun.
If you want to meet the happiest baby who is full of smiles he is your kid. Unless he is hungry or its time for bed he is nothing but smiles.
With a little help he was able to sit up and enjoy himself in the dirt.
Matt thought it was about time I shoot his new gun and even thought guns totally freak me out I shot it.
If you watch please don't make fun of me. I was so excited that I shot the pin down. It was only my second time firing the gun. At the end of the video I said okay I am done but I ended up shooting it like 5 more times.
We had so much fun at Pine Lake and like always I am so sad that it is over with. I am so glad I can take my family to the place I grew up at and had so many memories there. This post could go on for a mile but we were having so much fun that I kept forgetting my phone. Hope you enjoyed reading.
