I am a little behind on writing this post but thats what happens when you have a baby. 3 years ago on July 20th Matt proposed to me. Saying YES was the best decision I ever made.
I decided to dedicate this post to our story.
Matt and I meet while working at Allen's Grocery store back in 2009. Matt was a morning bagger and I was the afternoon bagger. So we actually never "worked" at the same time. Even though we never worked together I knew exactly who he was and I had the hots for him. I am not sure if he had the same feelings for me... you will have to ask him that one.
Matt left Allen's at the end of 2009 to serve a mission in Brazil. I thought nothing of it because I didn't think he even knew I existed, so I just carried on my life.
When Matt got home from his mission he started working at Allen's again. I frequently ended up going going to Allen's, heck I will run to the store for people if that means I got to see a hot boy. After going into the store multiple times on March 25 2012 Matt finally sent me a message on Facebook. I gave him my phone number after our conversation and he waited a whole week to text me. Longest week of my life! When he finally texted me we went on our first date that week.
The dates just keep on going and things kept moving right along. All of my family and friends told me they had a feeling I was going to marry him. I don't know how they knew but they were right.
After dating Matt for three months he came to Pine Lake with my family. Matt came down the day after me with my sister. The whole night without him I had this gut feeling that he was going to ask me to marry him. I just kept telling myself there was no way that he would think to propose to me at my all time favorite place, and that he still needed to talk to my dad and get his permission. Little did I know he had already done that and he did think to propose at my all time favorite place. Also the night as I was thinking of these million thing's I was playing Where's My Water on my IPad. One of the level's I played was called "Two Is Better Then One". Matt and I would always say that while we were dating or talking about marriage. The name of that level was just a reminder that Two really is better than one.
The day Matt came down Matt, Tashelle and Brad wanted to go on a four wheeler right away. It had been raining that day so it was quite muddy but I agreed. Matt wanted to drive me on the four wheeler and I was a little freaked out because he wasn't very experienced. (I get nervous easy..) We drove to my favorite meadow. Some how the convinced me to ride with Tashelle and Matt was going to ride with Brad. Before I could get on the four wheeler with Tashelle they took off and left me at the meadow. I started to get a hint that something was going on. As I was standing there waiting for I don't know what it started raining on me. After a few minutes one by one my different family members drove by each with a red rose in hand. Some of the roses had little memories the two of us had together on them. The last person to come up was Matt with more roses and he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was pouring rain at this time and it couldn't have been a more perfect place for a perfect event.
This is the meadow that I was left stranded at.
Three months later we were married on October 4, 2012 at the Mt Timpanogos Temple
Best decision I ever made! I love Matt more and more everyday.
Listen to this song it describes our love story perfectly.
